High-key and low-key black and white pictures involve some color editing styles in photography which I wasn’t familiar with. They emphasize on the contrasting shades which brings out the outlines and shapes of the targeted objects. I find it helpful to really increase the contrast in order to minimize existing inter-medium gray shades in a picture. I then matched the gray in both pictures by adjusting through the curve map.
