This is a sketch of Girl with a pearl earring. Girl with a pearl earring is created by Johannes Vermeer in 1665. It’s a controversial painting where the girl’s dress makes it feel like she should be royalty,. But we can’t find her in history. The reason I want to set up the fake for this artwork is that the girl’s movement is interesting and mysterious. The action can be she is looking towards the viewer or she is looking away from the viewer. When I set up the fake, I more focus on the light – where do I put the lights then I can have the same effect as the painting. Because this painting can clearly see the change of light, I tried to use different colors of light to achieve the same effect as the painting.
