
Grim aims to capture the ominous and dark presence of the concept of “the unknown.” There are a few unknowns in Grim including the subject – who are they? The place – where are they? There’s an address – is the visit intentional? I enjoyed the peculiar caging outside of the two doors as well since I seldom come across units with a caged exterior door. I thought it would be nice to explore the uncomfortability many folks experience with darkness and all the different realms the word exists in. When there is limited light a lot is left up to ones own ability to fill in the blanks and infer what is there. I came across some difficulty editing out all of the white in the image without making the image too dark. Grim is meant to contrast Delight from framework no. 4.
