In Delight I wanted to speak to the connection of light and love. The bright spirit of the subject, Lucy, is depicted through her facial expression and relaxed posture. The photo was taken against Cocktail Bar’s white brick facade that has been repeatedly spray painted with the phrase “I love you still.” I chose to only capture the “I love” of the tag in Delight to leave space for the viewer to ruminate and connect to the emotion the image may evoke once read. I edited the image to achieve a grey-white scaled image and asked my subject to dress in white and grey attire. I intended to create a contrast with framework no. 5 in concept and technique.
