Title: Poinsetta Peacock

I recreated Lucas Blalock’s work ‘Cactus Action’ using a dying poinsetta flower, shot on a Canon EOS Rebel T5. I like the way that he explicitly uses Photoshop as a photo manipulation tool. I had a ring light covered with a white t-shirt on the left-hand side and a Himalayan salt lamp on the right-hand side of the flower as lighting, as it was still dark outside. I originally intended to duplicate the petals but came up with the idea of instead duplicating the leaves during the editing process. I like that this exploration allowed me to give this dying flower some recognition for its work and beauty.
