For the framework, ‘Still Life,’ I wanted to do more than place objects strategically and photograph them. I taped a large sheet of white paper on my wall as a background for this photograph. Then I took 2 lamps, having the same intensity of light, and taped a blue and red sheet of acetate on each one. Then I placed silver-sequenced branch, used for decorative purposes, in front of the white background. I aimed both the lamps at the same spot, and through the principles of additive and subtractive light, the colour of the object changes, giving off vibrant blue and red shadows. I wanted to emphasize this unique phenomena, thus I showcased a single object to ensure the shadows were visible.
