Title: The Persistence of Technology

I based my work on ‘The Persistence of Memory’ by Salvador Dali since I’m interested in surrealism. I was originally going to have the time show up on each of the phones to show the idea of being glued to this notion of time, but it was hard to photograph the phone from that distance and the pink of the phone matched my bedsheets, so I photographed the back of the phone instead; it was easier to show its form, and the concept became more about the persistence of technology. The original work was about a dream Dali had; I made explicit the way in which people are tied to technology, with phone usage being one of the common examples.
