


Group project for 3rd year photography course at the University of Toronto (Daniels – Visual Studies). Large format (4×5) black&white negative making, developing, high resolution scanning, and large scale (44×59″) inkjet print.
Making of the image coincided with guest lecture/conversation between curator Lillian O’Brian Davies and artist Erika Defreitas on their work/research, and the essay “Witch Weather” (Davies, Peripheral Review, 2020) in which the Courbet’s The Painter’s Studio (1855) is referenced.
